so i just ordered a new set of headlights for my 2000 1.8tq and im looking to throw some new bulbs in to get a brighter look but i dont think i wanna drop the money on hid just yet, so with an oem setup whats the brightest i can go and is it possible to get the blue/purple look??

here's a pic of the headlights too, let me know what you think....
by the way if you're looking to order the same headlights let me know and i'll give you a different site to order, this site created so many issues, and is about $80 more than the other site that i found!!!

For halogens.....anything with a blue coating (needed to make light whiter) will reduce lumens.

I recommend you get Osram Silverstars (not to be confused with Sylvania Silverstars), these are a few hundred lumens brighter than stock, and will definitely improve your nighttime visibility.

H7 is halogen. D2S is for HID housings.

Osram Silverstars are nice. They are in my high beams and the Outback's highs, lows, and eventually they will be in the fogs too.

Since those are aftermarket headlights I would wait to see what bulb type you need to use.

OEM halogen is H7, but those headlights may differ as some aftermarket headlights use H1 bulbs.
