Oh hahahah.... These are just MY guns... I live in a house full of over 20 guns... Most of them are antique and I have no real interest in them... Got them from my grandfather when he passed.... At one point, he had over 300 guns in his house... The others went to other family memebers.... My uncle has about 10 of ours to fix them... But I haven't heard from him in 3 years.... They're probably gone...

My buddy has the same Kimber and he uses it as his carry weapon. Have you had any problems with the barrel rusting? He's sent it back twice now to have it replaced.

Before I sold my Kimber TLE2:

Finish wore off prematurely
Numerous Failure to Chamber

I hate Kimber. And it seems like Larry Vickers and other top 1911 smiths don't like them either.

That is a pretty expensive round for target practice, of course I am a big believer in shoot what you carry, so if that is your use train with it.

There are some other (better?) options you may want to consider. For example the Sig P250 allows you to interchange parts and use 9mm, .357SIG, .40S&W, or .45ACP (and even .22 with the newly released kit) and move between full-size, compact and sub-compact.

Although I am not a big fan, Glock allows some parts interchange of frames, slides, etc. And if you follow the whole SHTF logic, there are so many Glocks that if SHTF you are likely to find one if the one you have malfunctions.

Some of the people I work with really like the XD series (primarily because of the high capacity .45) and the freebies.

However, no matter what, you have to like how any handgun feels in your hand and how it shoots. If the reach for the trigger is too long, the grip is too big/small, the recoil is too wicked you will not shoot and not be ready if you ever have to.
