    Problem with chipped ECU?

Okay... I have two ECU's one chipped... one stock. When running the GIAC chip, my car will occasionally just shut off. Sometimes it while sitting at a stop light, sometimes when I am cruising down the road at 40, other times while I am doing 80 down the interstate... I see no pattern, it's just like a random shut off... no CEL's. It will also ocassionally buck a couple times while I am driving but continue to run.

Any ideas? I have never had a problem with the stock ECU...

how long have you driven the car with the stock ecu compared to the chipped ecu

are you missing any screws in the ecu box cover?

i had a similar issue with water entry on the ecu board due to a missing screw in the box.

It sounds like you have a solder connection that is loose. Check the chip. You should be able to send it back to the GIAC dealer and have them re-solder the Eprom for you.
