Rant!!! Say away from McGrath Audi

Well so start things off this rant is about McGrath Audi. I suggest that none of you go there. I took my car their twice and from the first time I was VERY displeased. The first time was a okay at best. I was very disappointed by the customer service. It really is off the wall. No one their nows how to do anything. I take it in a week later to fix a problem that they didnt fix the FIRST time. (Didnt really want to but my dad convinced me too since its close to home)

Ok. I take it in on Tuesday at 2. I was told to expect a call around 5. No call ALL day. Fine, I did leave it there to fix a few other small problems (window regulator, brake light, and fogged up headlights).

Wednesday comes around, and I finally get a call at 5PM. They tell me the regulator will be in tomorrow and to expect a call in the morning letting me know how things progress.

Thursday gets here and I finally get the call at 7PM. He tells me tomorrow it will be ready because the headlight is fogged up and they need to follow the bulletin from Audi. At this point im getting pretty pissed that my car has been in since TUESDAY.

Friday I didnt get a call all day and decide to go there to see WTF is going on. I get there and I see my car sitting lonely at the end of the service station. I go in and the man I was dealing with was shocked to see me. (I know I should have gone in on FUCKIN Wednesday right, dumby me.) Well he tells me "I was just going to call you, your car is ready." So he tells me to wait outside as he rolls it up. I wait and i dont see my car..... Hmmmmm. I walked back inside and see my hood open my intake and passenger headlight out, with the tech blowing the water out of the headlight to make me think they actually did shit. So he runs over telling me a load of BS that the tech is getting my car ready.

So he FINALLY rolls up my car. And what do I see? A DENT over my passenger headlight. I was heated. He shows the manager the dent. The two douche managers try and tell me that the dent was there BEFORE i brought it in. lol can you believe that? I cant. He said the service guy missed it as he was marking off the markings on his paper when i took it in. So after a good 10 mins of mouthing the two off, they tell me they will fix the dent. But I asked the manager to man up and atleast admit that they put the dent there. He wouldnt do it the *** that he is.

This long ass story isnt even over yet...

I set up a time friday to bring it in for today. They told me wednesday mornings was the only time the person that fixes dents comes in. I have class wendesday mornings so i just told them yeah and id figure it out later. Today rolls around and i couldnt miss class so i call and ask if i could drop it off at 11, the earlist. The new guy i was talking to today was actually nice. I get there at 11 and they tell me the dent remover wasnt even in yet. But i was told he only comes in wednesday mornings. So i leave it AGAIN!!! only thinking that this is the last time i ever deal with them. Still NO CALL. Im getting scared for my car. I call at 2 and the guy tells me another 20 mins itll be ready. I get there, and take a look at the pervious dent and they actually cleaned it up pretty nice. but what to I notice marks on my passenger fender that obviously werent there when i took it in. I showed them once again and thankfully they buffed most of it out.

All in all DONT NOT GO TO McGRATH AUDI if you know whats good for you please. I was showed nothing but dissrespect. And some of you may say well thats all dealers, No its really not, I have dealt with Fields BMW for the last 3 years personally and my parents for like the last 15 and i love it. I have never seen customer service like theirs.

Sorry for the long rant (i didnt go back to spell/grammer check either sorry) I just want to keep the rest of you audi lovers away from a BAD dealer.

i fell your pain man. i took my car the the schaumburg dealer a while ago about the headlights dipped and they siad its normal. and another time when my car had a misfire it was there for i think 4 days and they didnt really call with updates maybe 1 call. i would always call them

so far Laurel Audi of Westmont And Dan have been the best to deal with by far.

100% for Laurel Audi, The best service i never went to any other dealer but them for all my service, And never had any problem until i seen the porter guy take my garmin gps out of my car cought the little BITCH now he works at SATURN

oh an another thing about mcgrath audi, i went in to get a quote on a usp front and the guy looked at me like im retarded hes like wtf is a usp that doesnt exist, im like uhh ultrasport u ****!!, and hes uhh never heard of it, he says hes going to go check then comes back with a picture of a votex front and asks if tht was it i wanted to choke him!!!

Naperville Audi Rocks... Highland Park is good but schaumberg is much better than all.
I live on the north side and I prefer to go to Highland Park for parts.. I have fun with McGrath when my buddy was purchasing a S5... I went to the parts counter, I price matched a 710N valve from them it was $110 ! I called Schaumberg right in the parts lobby, with the guy behind the counter, and then Schaumberg says $60. I asked him why the price increase, he tells me its the owners price they can do what they want.. I looked into this and its true they can do that.
with all of that there were about 2 salespeople and one manager with my buddy for the 5 and I walked right up to him and said if the cust service sucks, the parts sucks what do you think about the sales team? The product doesnt change but the audi mcgrath team performance is horrible. We just left and the guys are watching us leave with their mouths on the floor.... LMAO... I have yet to step a foot in that place again... Hell not even sidewalk they might charge for that too... LOL

I was qouted $794 for a front brake job (just pads) from Mcgrath Audi
funny thing i call the parts dept and they want $112 for the pads so thats
$682 labor ?? also had car in for check engine light and and when i picked
up the car it was still on when i questioned it i was told its a throttle body error but the mechanic didnt fix it . The only thing the service rep was worried about was me giving a good report to Audi USA when they call for a follow up. I had to leave the car overnight and then the following day
i had heard nothing from them i call and ask whats going on and they say your cars been ready since 10am . Would of been nice of them to call and let me know. I have also been in their showroom 3 seperate times
and have never once been approached by a salesman. They shouldnt judge a book by its cover.

Also whats the deal with the dipped headlight ?? my driver xenon flickers like crazy lately and sometimes goeas completely out and message says
"Lft LT Dipped" is this a recall issue or do i need new bulbs ?

Yeah they told me the same thing the first time I picked up my car. I was hoping they would call me back for the second evaluation but it never happened, I would like to rip them a new one.

I bought my car there. They are a**holes. Only reason was I bought from them was that they had the only low milage 2001 that I could buy cash. Nothing good to say about Schaumburg either. My friend bought a USP from Laurel and he seemed satisfied at their service. But I think most german dealers are the same. BMW salesmen are just like their owners..... (that IS biased, so no hard feelings)

The service at Laurel(autonation) is terrible. The guys that run it are retards. I should know, I used to work there. I have scored some deals with the part department there though. You just have to pray you don't deal with the manager dude. The other guys will usually give me the employee price though.

I hear highland park will take care of you better than others thanks to the area. I have only looked at cars their, never actually checked out service.

Cause i had a brake job that they did. they were complete asses and i had to bitch them out, but anyway. a month or two later i realized that AoA never called me to ask how the service was. and whenever i went there for small stuff that was covered under warranty AoA called within a day or two.

Mcgrath is always bragging about how good their service is, maybe they get it like that cause AoA doesnt know about all of its complaints.

I've also heard good things about Continental Audi, however I've never really been there to confirm. Haven't taken my car anywhere, except for MobileOne, good people there.

I've dealt with one service manager at Continental. i called up their service dept to ask for a service history of an audi i was interested in purchasing, and the person was very helpful. From the convo I also learned that there are two service techs there that are part of the Chicago Audi club. (I took that as a good thing).

However, I didn't like the sales person at Continental. I was looking at a B6 USP that they have, but the sales guy drove me nuts. I ended up purchasing from Laurel Audi - the sales person there is more laid back and less aggressive.

McGrath sucks, i just stop there to get breakfast sometimes when i drive by, to piss off personnel.

How old are you? I find it usually to be a factor of treatment. Since i can't afford dealership rates, they charge up to wazoo for parts, i needed a radiator hose clip
they charged me like $5-6 bucks. I don't really care, but still these things should cost no more than 50 cents

my VW/AUDI dealership experiences are very grim anyway

IMO... McGrath Audi sales people are straight up awesome. Not a huge fan of their service center even though they've listened to me everytime... my car didn't start during the summer one time and one time in the winter... blamed the summer time on bad fuel and the winter time one on being too cold out... I even had a CEL... and they straight told me that they don't have time to look at it. Didn't even bother offering me a loaner so they look at it... I think the MOST annoying thing about them is that when they bring your car to the front (actually the side)... no one ever tells you. I waited 15 minutes... asked about my car... told me it would be out shortly and will let me know... 15 minutes later... the saleperson that sold me the car came up to me and told me that my car has been sitting outside...

Cont. Naperville sucks. I had my car in for JUST an oil change a few months ago. Out for $120 right? NOPE. I get an estimate for $4k. Why? It says i need

break pads
rotors
radiator
MAF
spark plugs?????

The service dept. tells me that because of the mileage that is what needs to be done.

I ask if they can check what has been done since I HAVE already done all of these the past 6 months. ALL of them but radiator.

"Oh sorry, I looked at your mileage and this is what Audi states you need done." says tech.

My reply " OK fuckwad now I am pissed that you are so lazy you cannot look into what has been done to my car, you think I am going to drop $4k like its a piece of lint in a hat because of the miles on my car? Are you so lazy you cannot look at my break pads and see the wear? Why do i need a radiator?

me "Is it possible that during my oil change they spilled a little thats why its under the car?"

So far, i've had a pretty good experience... But i cant compare it to any other Audi dealers...
Once, their service adviser saved me about $150... Instead of charging me that amount just to look at my car he test drove it and told me that my clutch was going out for sure.
But yeah, Audi dealers charge a lot!!!

You could have just said no thanks and walked right? Instead you had to drill some guy that was doing his job. Most people that go in would just do it. That is how dealers make money. Well, I see. He was holding my keys so I did have to sit through the crazy sales pitch. I guess it is like if you stubbed your toe and went to see your MD, and he comes in to the room and tells you that your going to need a new hip, new leg, and hair transplants just because your 27 years old now, not 17. Your bill went from $25 to $15,000. Its the shock and of it all.

Any ways, I am off to go to Laurel Audi in Orland Park to get some parts right now.
