what kind of wax do you guys use?

finish waxes are very particular... if im looking for a nice car show look i would go with a nice carnauba wax like the p21s... if im doing something like the 2 or 3 time a year protective wax i would go with the klasse all in one... in a couple weeks im doing the whole car from polish to glaze then put a nice coat of wax... then two months later or so i will do a klasse job... i am starting my own detailing side business soon... i am really interested in this kinda stuff...

^me too. i like some mothers products for more specialized stuff if i don't want to order it online. (like metal polish, trim and engine dressings, etc)

mothers wax was always way too much work by hand for me though. zymol makes good shit too, and even their cheaper level products can work wonders on the most faded of paint.

Yeah, I tried it and it was alright....but just alright.

I switched to Maguires "Gold Class" with better results imo, and somewhat easier to remove. I'm also a fan of the Zymol stuff.

I've tried a number of different metal polishes, and nothing beats Mothers!

I use Chemical Guys Jetseal 109. It's not a wax, its a sealant. It is absurdly easy to apply with a MF covered sponge, so you can apply it between regular detail's and keep the car protected. Expensive, but works very well.

Im not obsessive about the deep shine or wet look, I just want a car that looks nice and more importantly is protected from acid rain, bird shite, sap, etc. Jetseal accomplishes this very nicely.

I use tropi-care (tropicare.com) I love it, as good as zaino in my opinion. They also now make special waxes in tune with the color of your car to bring out more of the deep color.

I like p21s as far as actual wax goes but normally I go for Werkstat products like the Acrylic Jett:Trigger. I cant say enough good things about it.

I use Einzett or however u spell it lol. Detailer's Domain has alot of nice stuff I get my carwash and wax from their selections. I feel its better than anything you'll find in a store.

Zaino ... its a long and painful process but its really worth it !!
When i did it, the shine lasted for 3-4 months (with just regular wash and there version of quick detailer)
Haven't done it to the Audi yet but here are some pictures of when I used it on my Acura

zaino is bad-ass but complicated and time consuming also made more for darker colored cars (not that it cant be used for light colored ones, it just brings out the true potential of the wax with darker colors) but i went with blackfire wax, they're in my opinion the only other option for wax aside from zaino if your serious about a top tier professional wax

That is exactly what I do. Its amazing what the claybar does for you. Just gotta get that wax on the car asap after claying it.

I have and I like it--easy on & off, no excessive buffing required, doesn't smudge like a carnuba, can use multiple coats, lasts for a while. I avoid using their abrasive cleaner on the paint (I've been fortunate enough not to have to). Claybar followed by a coat or two of Liquid Glass & I'm happy.

I have not done any comparisons though, mostly because I am not a detail-head, I just like the car to be very clean, smooth, and bead water. I'm sure there are better products out there as this stuff is at least a 25 year old product, but I'm happiest when I can find a competant product on the shelf of my local store--I HATE having to order stuff (part of the reason I've never tried Tropicare, Zaino, etc).

Edit: plus I'm not sure I'd notice the difference if I did use a marginally better product as my cars are light--the sedan is silver and the cab is Alpaca beige.
