Hey Guys,
Thought you all might be interested in this! My wonderful dealer(s), Flow Greensboro, Flow Winston Salem, and Flow Charlottesville had a complimentary track day for their customers at Virginia International Raceway today and it was amazing! A huge thumbs up to Flow for doing this, what a great dealer! So this is how it went, we all met up at the Greensboro Store there were about 60 Audis all in the parking lot and we had a police escort across to the highway (pretty awesome Audi VIP treatment) and we convoyed up to VIR. Health and Safety meeting was next and then to the track it was! Audi of America and regional reps also showed up with an R8 and a few new A4's and an S5 to drive! It was a great learning experience and so much fun!
I started off with the new B8 A4, which to say the least with I was very impressed with, there is no turbo lag what so ever, much better then even the B7 and around the corners you definitely feel the better balance and the 40:60 torque split of the quattro, it handled wonderfully!
I then got in the R8 for a ride with one of our service advisors who has racing experience and man was that something else! The sound of the beast is just amazing not to mention the speed!
So anyways what you're here for is the pictures....
This was our Convoy of about 60 Audi's of pretty much every model, RS4, S6, R8, Q7, etc. up 29 North
The Audi of America R8 that we got to take rides in!
The lunch parking lot
A symphony of engine noise! That silver B8 was the car that we got to drive
AOA S5
My A4
Pulling up after a hard session of laps, note the smoke coming off the brakes.
The ole' B6 held up wonderfully and mine is completely stock, I got it up to 105 along the main straight and it blasted around the corners with all four tires screaming in pain. I kept up with ease with many of the other cars, but then again I was in the beginner level so nothing too crazy. My brakes were smoking quite a lot by the time I was done and the lettering on the sidewalls of my tires has been rubbed off a bit (ooopps)
Throughout the day we got prizes, I got a free hat and really nice duffle bag. And then as a special treat they also had rented out the on site go cart track which was a blast! I didn't get any pics of that though.
