Gas Tank Problem

Hey guys. I have a 99 A4 quattro v6 2.8L 30 valve. the gas tank is messed up because when i am filling up my gas tank it clicks off like it is full, every dollar or so. so i pull it out, and you can hear a bit of air coming out. So I guess it is a ventilation problem. can anyone help me out?

Change the charcoal canister. Its under the rear round plastic panel in the back. Look from underneath the car.

i have looked under there before but everything looked fine. is it something on the inside of the canister?

Don't stick the nozzle completely in, pull it back just a little. Works for most.

This is somewhat common. I'm sure you'll find some more info if you search.

try starting the car for a few seconds when that happens with the cap off. it works for my friends a4
