The D3 has been around for a while and have gotten very good reviews from owners. The F90BT is still relatively young, and have been known to have major bugs in its initial release. They've updated the firmware to fix the issues, but still, it runs Micro$oft Windows Automotive, enough said! You can go to avic411.com to read more about the systems.

The F90BT has better software, graphics, ect. The D3 physically looks better in the dash. They both have near identical functionality.

I picked the D3. I would've easily bought the F90BT for its better interface, however I honestly hated the way it looked. (The volume knob is huge which makes the screen smaller)

I'm also planning on getting a AVIC and I may be wrong, but on my research I found out the F series AVIC has the maps stored on flash (as opposed to a DVD) and it comes with bluetooth built-in, which pretty much was the tie-break for me.

i went with the d3, i got a brand new one for a screaming deal. i wanted the f90bt but after seeing its 2 mins boot up time, the ipod connection not working and the bluetooth connection not working well i was leaning more towards the d3. i liked the no disc for the navi but i played with it at best buy and its extremely slow and the screen is smaller. that button is just huge on it

    Re: Pioneer d3 vs f90bt

Neither...go with the Kenwood dnx series. It does everything the d3 does and has Garmin navigation so no need for a disc to use navigation. Also you can color match the interior lighting so that it looks oem.
