Im looking to put some type of variation of the r8s gated shifter into my a3 and was wondering if some of you bruce wayne types with the R8s would be able to help me. I was wondering if you could just tell me what the gated shift pattern is and possibly supply some photos of the knob and lever as well as the gate. thanks!

If you ever want to track your car, I recommend that you throw away any and all ideas about having this type of gated shift setup. Its TERRIBLE! Its for looks only. ZERO practicality. Its the thing I hate most of the R8.( And there are thousands of things that I love). Audi took the very worst idea from Ferrari, and put it into the R8. I hope you don't make the same mistake.

The only real benefit of a gated shifter is hearing the "click" after a shift.

yeah that pattern would really get annoying if you were trying to shift quickly. You can't man handle a shift pattern like that. Takes waaaaaayyyy too much time to go through the motions of it.
