Re: Just vag'd my car anddd...

Secondary Air Injection pump is not a big deal.. I've had that in my car for 2 years now and my mechanic said that it could go out completely and the car will still run fine. What happens is like a whirring sound for about 20 seconds after you start it up sometimes, and it will periodically cause a check engine light. I asked about bypassing it and he said it would be a few hundred bucks in labor so I just live with it.

I have removed my secondary air pump completely and just plugged a resistor into the connector, and no CEL after 2 years.

check to see if that hose from the pump is connected to the air box.

does it look like i am going to need an o2 sensor, or do you think that it is being thrown off by the other codes

make sure you dont have any vacuum leaks. the line to the combination valve tends to break. to replace the air pump is expensive but if first thing in the morning you hear a loud whistle it probably isnt the pump that is bad but one of the other related components
