    what would you do...

if you could end up with the same down/same monthly payments what would you get?

    08 (new) 328xi with 6SPD/sport (lease)

    05-06 S4 CPO (purchase)

Just trying to talk myself into one of these. I like the 328 because it would have free maintenance... costing me literally nothing but payment and gas

but I want the power of that V8 as well

I've been Audiless for a while but one of my DD will get replaced by an A3.

A good friend of mine just picked up 06 a 328xi a couple months back. Its a good car and raised my thinking on current BMW but it felt so slow and the AWD is a joke specially if your comming from quattro. It reminded me of the haldex in my old TT.

always purchase over lease imo. secondly, youre getting a better equipped car with the s4 vs the 328. however youre getting a newer car, and newer designed car. so its really up to you which is the appropriate one. are you looking for something thats newer and slower or faster and a bit older?

Depends on how the lease is structured, whats the down payment, whats the residual, etc..

In some instances you can pay less for a car by leasinging and buying it out in the end than if you were to finance 100% of the cost of the car from day one. That being said, i have never leased, but thats not to say that i won't if the right deals comes around.

For the record i would buy the Audi over the BMW. If it were a 335, i say grab the Bimmer, but its not.

3rd unless i wanted to keep my 335i warranty intact for the 5 years, which i probably would, which would mean i wouldn't be able to chip it, which means S4.

    Well this depends...
The bmw 328 has 4 year 50,000 miles free maintenance.. while the S4 does not... if you dont mind spending an extra 2-3g's more for maintenance on the audi.. then the S4 is the way to go

I would definitely pick the S4. Plus at the end of it all you would own the S4 instead of having to give it back like with the BMW.

I'd get a private party used 335i that's about one year old and still under the MFR's warranty. Then go out and get that Stage 2 Dinan flash for 384HP/421ft lbs. torque for $2K and still have warranty coverage. You'll smoke everything in the Audi line-up except for the RS6 and R8 :)

if you are shopping an economy bmw you must ask yourself are you buying it simply for the 'bmw' badge? like many have said if you desire a bimmer, pony up and do the 335 (or 135). between your choices 328 vs s4, go with the s4 no question.

    Re: what would you do...

Plenty of other options like legacy 2.5 gt,wrx etc. Honestly the 328xi is a baby momma car and it has 100 less hp than the s4. 328=a4. Id rather drive a mazdaspeed3 or gti than a 328xi. On the cheap side a b6 s4 with less or no warranty can be had for cheap(with the $ saved you can repair if it breaks).I cant drive bimmers if they are not 335,135 or m versions(if not Id drive a cheaper japanese car)
I've been Audiless for a while but one of my DD will get replaced by an A3.

    Re: what would you do...

Well you're on an Audi site...

But, I would still say S4 over 328xi. Or CPO 335i... I think CPO 335i would be the best bet! (if you can get past the interior... turbos are just so much fun!

since I have been unable to find an S4 that I like (very bummed) it looks like I might just go with on 08 A4. CPO, Audi Care, (they are installing a chip), and all for under 400/month... I will step up to the S4 or A5 within a couple years

i use to drive an old 3 in the winter (ice, slush, snow) and 90% of the time, the back end always swung out in the above mentioned conditions. I was driving very cautiously. never got the tach needle above 2000 rpm at any given gear and time.

well it used to be that u can have dinan parts installed and not harm your bmw warranty.

now if u have engine modification dinan parts, it will void your bmw warranty. im sure dinan still warranties their parts... but i doubt theyll fix ur engine if u blow it up.

so technically yea... they warranty their superchargers, exhausts, chips etc... but not your car.
