Where have all the K04's gone to???

Last I heard a few places had them, but were going for $999 or something like that. For all the supporting mods that an optimal K04 setup requires, you might as well spend a few hundred more, bolt up a BT, and make a lot more power.

k04-15 turbos, like everything from KKK/Borg Warner are produced in annual runs...so there are times when supply exceeds demand and prices are lower, and times when there is no supply, and if/when one can find a new one the prices are quite a bit higher.

Yeh i talked to a couple places and they said the exact same thing...im just out of cash to buy the rest of the mods for a BT right now but my turbo is dead so i figured why not just get a k04 since it bolts right up and really dont need any other mods..

Or just buy a used k03 for super cheap and then save up for a BAT setup. That would be my plan if I need a new turbo.

I looked at k04's, they really just arent worth the money when a BAT setup is not much more.

why even bother going k04, you will so regret it. Just dave up and go BT. It will cost you less in the long run.

very true, but i dont trust used shit on my car at all...k04 is just to hold me over until next summer when i get back to the grind at the beach and make some serious cash...

tried ecode tuning and many other various sites and i found one that is getting some in, in a couple weeks, but that was it

BW most likely doesn't really care about doing the K04-15 anymore since no one really uses it, plus they have their S series turbo line that everyone is buying.

for hondas maybe. j\k..i like to keep it new just in case theres a problem. seen to many people get D'd in the B because of stuff they bought of the forums...but to each his own...

very true, but thats one more year then i would get with a used one..Plus why risk spending money especially on a turbo and not get it new.That just seems silly to me but like i said, to each his own, i just feel more comfortable with a new one, never know what the previous owner could of done to it, or lied about it..

Borg Warner line of S turbos use a new extended tip design wheel. Same wheel that Forced peformance uses to build their HTA turbo line.

i am Giac 1+ already but thats not the issue, blown turbo is the issue at hand...wont do shit without a turbo..

Find someone selling a used K03 till you can afford going to a larger turbo setup. You are not going to see all that much power difference between a K03 and K04.

Well a GTRS is what the car should have came with stock, well if Audi wanted the A4 to actually have some power right from the factory.

I'm not sure. I know I read about a few buying K04s from them but haven't read up on any follow up posts, good or bad.

called them and they do not have any as well....yeh that 700 dollar k04 fell threw, my buddy that works at audi said he had one in a box new but the customer came to pick it up...never knew u could get k04's threw audi but i never would..Can anyone say One MILLLION dollars!!!(dr.evil voice)..

I believe the TT225 is a K04 unit vs the TT180 which was a K03. If the TT225 does use a K04 then you should be able to get one through Audi. Anyone confirm this?

Sounds like the parts guy at your local Audi shop knows close to nothing about cars, but I'm not surprised. It's just a desk job, they aren't really required to have much technical knowledge. I'd say find the Audi part number for the k04-15 and then try again, they should be able to give you a price based on that.

Used K03 is not a bad idea; if you can wait about 2 weeks mine will be up for sale cheap with only 38k on it.

LOL, you really expected a Audi dealer parts counter guy to know about a non OEM part for any Audi A4? You might have well been asking for a honda part.

Yes you can, but it is only going to work on the Audi TT or any VW 1.8t transvers car since thats what it is designed for and will NOT work on a longitude car like the A4 or Passat.


I was just at the track here in Socal and was talking with the guys from Kinetics, owner told me they ususally have K04-15's in stock most of the time.
