    Can S4 motor mate to Passat tranny?

    My boy is thinking about throwing an S4 motor in a MK3 Golf and was wondering if that combo would work? Anyone know or have experience with this?

    The passat is pretty much a B5 a4, with the same motor and tranny that would find in the audi 1.8 and 2.8 cars. The audi 1.8t tranny fits the S4 motor, so there should be no reason why the passat 1.8 tranny wont fit.

    mkIII golf with an S4 motor? Talk about nose heavy and cramped engine bay. If anything I would recommend a Jetta due to it having more weight in the arse.

    Because the S4 motor is sitting in my back yard just needing to be rebuilt. Why don't you turbo that CTS you're driving?

    Yea its in your back yard but unless someone won the lottery and didn't tell me, getting that motor and trans in that car is gunu be a BITCH. Don't worry about that CTS, just remember.....becareful what you wish for. I'm a vw/audi guy I don't want to embarress and of those cars....lmao...

    Lol...Good question. You'll have to ask J about that. But with the cost of the motor out of the way, should still work out cheaper.
