    Newer OEM Fuel Pump?

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
Well, I was looking into GIAC's X-Chip and went to check the fuel pump model that my car had come equipped with. I found that I have part # 06F127025H. This was not listed on the GIAC information page so just did quick google search to see what up with the new part number. It's a newer pump than the "F" version, but does anyone know what kind of improvements this pump has over the older "B" and "F" pumps? How much of an improvement is the APR or AutoTech fuel pumps compared to this newer "H" version fuel pump, if at all?

    Re: Newer OEM Fuel Pump?

I don't know how to really answer your first question because I am not sure on what stock fuel pump I have, but I have and early 07 and have been running the GIAC-X software for over 20k on the stock pump with no problems. I recently upgraded to newly revised Autotech Fuel Pump and couldn't be any happier with it, I have been running it now for about 3k and have had no problems at all with it. GIAC has yet to deliver the software for the upgraded fuel pump, but with the X-file I feel that as soon as I installed the autotech fuel pump in my car it adapted to the new fuel pump and I feel I have a slight more power from mid-range rpm to redline. I hope that helps to answer your question.

    Re: Newer OEM Fuel Pump?

That "B" versus "F" pump thing ended up being BS. There is no sig difference in the function of the pump (there was a small change to the bleeder I believe). Since the "F" pump there have been 2 more revisions and functionally, again, there is little difference at all. The issue is damage to the cams and buckets that occurs and it occurs on B pump cars, f pump cars, g pump cars, h pump cars, etc. GIAC made an assumption back in the B pump days that the new F pump was the magic fix but it turned out wrong. No need to update your pump unless it is not working properly.

    cheers! mike

what about the issue of surging on the "B" pump vs. the "F" pump? Stock "H" fuel pump should be sufficient still with GIAC-X?

Agian Im not too sure what version of the stock I had but I was good for 20k. I do have to say agian how happy I am with the autotech fuel pump and its only $350 I believe. You should definitly be fine.

AWE will also be releasing a fuel pump shortly. It will be around $400.

"Surging" is turbo and wastegate related and has nothing to do with the fuel pump. Fuel cut and hesitation at higher rpms is fuel pump related and it can occur with any version of fuel pump.

I've been hearing this from you for a while, do you know when they are they doing this? Is $400 going to be a completely built pump (not including the core charge, obviously), or just the parts like the autotech pump?

    Re: Newer OEM Fuel Pump?

Latest revision is "K" (released July 2009) which supercedes the "F" revision.

I found out after my "F" version (with has KMD parts DIY) got messed up and fuel leaked into the engine, diluting engine oil. Audi had to replace my entire pump coz they said there was no way they could repair it.

So, I am presently running revo Stg2+ on this new revised stock pump. Keeping my fingers crossed, no fuel cut yet. Car feels smooth and about the same as previously.

Can't confirm this but one of the Audi OEM suppliers here said that the "K" version hpfp is shared by the S3 2.0T as well. Anyone could verify this?
