Hey everyone, I was thinking about selling some of my fleet, and buying a new R8. Here is the lineup. Tell me what you think I should sell, to still keep a nice lineup, but be able to add the R8 too it.

    04 Audi S4
    02 Porsche Turbo
    02 BMW M3
    03 Mercedes G500
    02 Mercedes S430
    05 Mercedes SL500 AMG Pckg.
    01 Ford Excursion (Gas)
    06 Ford Excursion (Diesel)
07 Ford Explorer Eddie Bauer Ed.
    08 Ford F250 Superduty

.... Now, I honestly am tired of all of my cars, and need some new ones. But which ones should go first? In your opinions.

SL500, S430 pics are coming. My white excursion is in Ohio with my son at college.

Re: Thinking about trading in fleet for R8..

My dad had an 03 turbo and got it for around $95 grand with a few miles on it, once it hit 60,000 miles the car was worth $40 grand hahaha. Soo you might want to sell it sooner and get as much money as you can for it.

    Id keep:
    1 SUV
1 Truck ( if you have to )
    M3
    S4

you could probably sell the s4 if you needed to, ive just always been a sucker for that body style m3

Wow, with all the money you've spent on that "fleet" you could own a few supercars. I'd hate to know what it costs to insure all that even in PA.

Re: Thinking about trading in fleet for R8..

I know you won't believe me, but I'm not really loaded. I had a few good years in business, and have a weakness when it comes to cars. So take a guess, where do you think all my money is?? In my freakin' driveway! Haha. We'll honestly, I was thinking about selling the SL500, the G500, the Ford Explorer, the Ford Excursion and the Porsche Turbo. That way I wouldn't have 2 supercars, plus an SL500 which is on the line. So this way I'll still have my S430 Sedan, S4, M3, R8, Diesel Excursion, F250, and a little extra cash to spend on my R8 :)

Re: Thinking about trading in fleet for R8..

Yeah, I need one family car (S430, thinking about getting an S63 AMG as well)... A nice summer ride (M3), wife's car... (G500 or SL), and I love my Diesel and Gas Excursions. No need for explorer or f250 i'm thinking because I have dealerships I could use any pickup truck for. I got the explorer for my son while he's at college, because I wouldnt' want him with his M3 while he's at school, getting drunk, and racing. So I think I'll just get rid of it all and get myself an R8 and a Bentley Flying Spur :) ... THanks for advice. Not saying I'll use it, but I just like to hear other peoples opinions....

Sammy, also just wondering, how did you come about getting your R8?

I love the porsche, but that will be most of the money I get for the R8. I do love it though, and I honestly can say that my car is most likely just as fast as the R8. I love the AWD it just feels amazing. The pickup is incredible. My brother has a Murcielago Lp640 and my car beats it to 140

seriously, sell the M3, S4, G5, explorer, gas excursion. I don't know why you would want to keep the M or S over the turbo.

That means 6 vehicles would be leaving your parking lot. Keeping at least 3 + the R8.

    M3 is timeless and sexy.
Merc's are so-so in my world, I'm not that impressed with them, but you gotta keep a 4dr around.
Expedition's are actually cool if (and only if) diesel.
Porsche Turbo's are f-in sweet, BUT you are buying an R8. Porsche turbo has been done for years, how many years as Audi made the R8? It's the new hotness and sets the bar for everything else.

Re: Thinking about trading in fleet for R8..

the Porsche is going to loose its value A TON faster than any of the cars he has. so if he uses the Porsche now, that's a lot more money going towards the r8. id say keep the s4 / m3 just because they would be fun cars to mod out maybe stage 3 s4 and im sure theres something similar to the m3. I saw a stage 4 m3 1100hp 31 lbs of boost the other day hahaha. anyways i like the idea of trading in your SUV's for something like the cayenne turbo, although the cayenne turbo is almost as much as the r8... i think you'd enjoy the cayenne S just as much. my moms old cayenne s was a ton of fun

Flying spur is a BEAST. Stage 1 = all those you mentioned in your rear view. But....I would never buy one new, being from the car industry, I find it hard to buy a car right off the showroom floor. Depreciation FTW.

I know some people love the new car experience, I'm just not one of them

To the OP, GET THAT R8!

    fixed.

I wish a 300c was a flying spur, but if your comparing a 300c boat p.o.s to a Flying Spur, then you don't know what your talking about. Sorry just do some research you'll find out quick, I was gonna buy one a bit back.

Re: Thinking about trading in fleet for R8..

based on my sig, I'm with Rich, keep a sedan (S4), SUV (excursion diesel or G500), truck (your choice), and the R8.

I'd also trade the M3 for a 135 (living proof it kicks a**!). I dropped the M5 for a 335 and am gonna drop the 335 now that I have the 135. The new turbo bimmers are head and shoulders over many of the former (and even current) M's right now (sans a limited slip diff) in terms of all around performance/comfort/economy and useability.

I also considered a flying spur, but its a little over the top ostentatious for me. Not that the R8 isn't but it's not a sedan. I also considered a Maserati Quattroporte since they can be had cheap right now (little less flamboyant).

Lastly, a 300M is not a flying spur by any means. Had you mentioned a Phaeton, I would have agreed. That was the best VW that never caught on. Shame but if they sold that with an Audi badge it would have KILLED (dont think the A8 is quite as nice as the Phaeton was).

Re: Thinking about trading in fleet for R8..

    **My own opinion**

Cars you can get that are about the same price as the flying spur:

    2008 Aston Martin DB9
    2008 Ferrari F430
    2009 BMW M3
    2008 Nissan GT-R
    2008 Lamborghini Gallardo
    200 Porsche Cayenne Turbo S

the list goes on. The Bentley to me and always will never be anything special. The car's I listed above are a bunch of amazing machines that are head turners and loads of fun.

look too damn close to me haha

anyways, sorry to thread jack I just hate to see money wasted on something like the flying spur when you can get a 10x more amazing car for around the same price

^^you could buy the M3 and GTR and still have a bunch of money to spend on mods instead of a spur

Trade it all and get both the flying spur and R8...not sure if you'd have enough trade-in value for both.

haha who cares if he has the cars or not, i doubt he would go into detail about some of those cars if he didn't have them, hes asking for advice not people to doubt him. its still fun maybe being part of the decision to buy an insane car :)

Re: Thinking about trading in fleet for R8..

get rid of all the fords since they are crap except the diesel. sell the g500... they are soooo over rated and pretty ugly. and sell your M3 to my friend. that should give you a pretty chunk of change as a down payment!

My signature says S4 because this is an audi forum, and no other cars that I own are audi's. I will get some pictures up, I keep forgetting. And yes, they are all in my driveway... I took the Black / Black Diesel Excursion to NYC yesterday with a driver. It was like the secret service. It's black on black pretty tinted. I'm 100% I'm keeping that.

sell everything and get a B8 S4 plus the R8. The new B8 is big enough to sit 4 6 footers comfortably, something the B6/B7 cannot even imagine.
