Alright guys I have been getting a check engine light and when they scann it. It comes back saying map sensor. I have changed it twice now. I just put a new one today and once again on the ride home the check engine light came on.
The car hiccups or surges in power. The EPC light also came on before I changed the sensor but it hasnt came back since i put the new one in. At idle before i change the map sensor it was reading 1300 something on boost but should have been reading 1010. The sensor is the one on the intercooler. If anyone has had this happen please let me know because at 140.00 dollars a sensor it gets old.

    Thanks

EPC light is typically linked to the MAF, have you tried a new MAF?

    Re: Map Sensor

I just had similar problems with my car and I took it to the stealership and they charged me 280 to change the engine speed sensor. It sucks, but at least now its fixed.

    Re: Map Sensor

There was a fault for that but they said that the map sensor was making it read that. Where is the engine speed sensor located?

    Re: Map Sensor

The engine speed sensor is located on the bottom back of the engine on the drivers side. I went through many issues with the map sensor. I replaced and did nothing. I was stumped. Then I rolled back the black rubber wiring shielding and exposed the wires. All the wires looked fine and had power on one of the lines through the voltometer readings. As I ran my fingers down every map sensor wire I noticed about 2-3 inches back from the connector that one wire had broke INSIDE its own wire coated and was somehow pulled back and the wire was separated with about 1/2-1" gap but still inside the wire coating. I have never seen that before. Soldered it back up and all was good from then on. (At least with the MAP sensor lol)

    Re: Map Sensor

Thanks for the info. We put a volt meter test on it and when it was suppose to be reading 5v on the third pin. It was moving all around. So we are working with that right now
