First of all is it possible to put some S4 recaros in an A4? If so how much would it cost for the front and rear seats and where would you get them? I was looking for new ones?

I have no idea if they fit or not.

I would say your best bet to finding a pair is at a junk yard where someone totaled their ish.

Yes, they will fit. I have seen people put them in B6 A4s and the B6 and B7 platforms are the same.

yes and no. B7 have a bladder in the passanger seat which is needed so you don't get a airbag out light. Airbags won't go off if light is on. So technically you need b7 seats, unless you rip out the bladder, wireharness from your stock seats and swap them (not exactly easy).

    I had s4 recaros in my b7.

Yes they fit, but unless you can find some used it will be VERY EXPENSIVE if you try and buy some new! You don't buy the seats as one peice, they are purchased in sections!

    Re: S4 Recaros in an B7 A4

For a B7 you need B7 Recaros otherwise you will throw a code as nandroj81 mentioned.

Also sedan rear seats are different than Avant seats so be prepared to do a bit of seat back swapping in order to get it right.

Recaros are hard to find, but if you do come across a set I suggest you grab them. One of the best mods you can do to the car if you love driving.

I drove from Vancouver, BC to LA for mine.

    Those do look really good.

How much do they weigh compared to the stock seats?

I never really was feeling those S4 Recaro seats. They look like hunched up chubby chocolate men laying back in the car, but I'm sure that it will grab you through turns 10x better than the stock seats... that alone might be worth the swap if the price is good.

They weigh quite a bit. Almost twice as much as the stock seats from what I remember.

They might not look super cool but the back support for long distance driving is much better than the stock units. My back was killing me on the drive down to LA and I was in heaven coming back home.

There might be better seats on the market but for an OEM plug and play solution these are as good as it gets.

Yea, i feel the stock non-sline seats have as much lateral support as a desk chair.

Are the S4 and RS4 Recaros the same?

The RS4 uses the Recaro Sporter CS, and the S4 uses the Recaro Trend Topline. You can order the two fronts with sliders/brackets for less than 4k, but you will have the issue of the airbag light and you will also have to wire them into the harness/fusebox to retian power options. I cannot relay in words how angry I am that Audi never offered a Recaro option for S-Lines in North America. Everytime I hit a corner with the sport suspension myself and all my passengers slide out of the cheap non supportive oem seats.

no you cannot wire the sportster cs into the fuse box to retain power. and the rs4 euro does not use sportster cs they are different they are not available thru recaro. the american rs4 uses the same seats as the s4 which are not topline seats almost all seats used as factory seats are not available from recaro you have to go thru the the dealer. i have sportster cs and they are super comfy and i am working on defeating the airbag lights to allow the airbags to work.

    Re: S4 Recaros in an B7 A4

The S4 OEM Recaros have airbags. The aftermarket Recaros do not. They do however have the wiring harnesses for electric and heater. Just got off the phone with Recaro NA, and best we can figure, the S4 uses the Style Topline, not the Trend. Compare pics and you will see the difference. They can be had for ~1700 each side. They were unable to tell me if the seats would bolt right up to our rails, and, if they don't, the rails run around 250 per side. Looking at about 4000 for the whole setup, which is much better, I assume than the stealership price. Hope that helps.

no they dont bolt up to your rails you need brackets the electric unit for the topline is contained in the seat you need wedge brackets which bolt to the floor and then the seat bolts to the bracket.

I think you read through my post too quickly without fully understanding what I was saying. I never mentioned the European RS4, and you can buy the Sportster seats withy power options, however, the fashion in which you wire them is entirely up to you.
