so this morning when i was getting in my car to go to school...i tried to unfold my mirrors (they are electronic folding side mirrors) and they wouldnt unfold no matter which way i turned the button...any ideas as to what the problem could be? i just wanted to see if it was something i could do before i have to go to the stealership and pay a couple hundred for a problem i could have fixed myself...

look in your manual and check the fuses. Find out which fuse is for the mirrors and see if it's burnt out. That's the only "help" I can give you

pretty sure u can just manually unfold em...could be wrong, but bmws with electric mirrors like that could still be folded manually...just some food for thought, i would double check though...

    Re: uh oh =[[ help!

just pull the fuse panel cover off and there should be a little twezer like tool to take out the fuses, if you can see the little connection between the left and right side of the fuse it is good, also if it is black and smells like burning its probably bad

Do you know where the fuse panel is? If not, open the driver's side door. There's a panel cover at the end of the dash - think of it as the very end of the dash panel where the dash meets the door when the door is closed. You'll see a little rectangle cutout along the edge of the panel. Stick your key in there and pry off the cover. There are several clips holding the panel cover in place - don't be afraid to yank the panel off.

This picture is from my old Jetta, but it's similar - same location as the audi.

The cover will have pictures and descriptions of each fuse. Find something that looks like the mirrors and pull it to check it out.
