RS5 Test Mule Spied in Nurburgring

Great find but looks like a typo at the end:

The car looks just like a normal S5, but according to photographer it did not sound like S5. Also the front bumper is different with bigger air intakes giving it away that is a test mule for the RS5.

RS5 will be competing with BMW M3 and Mercedes-Benz C63. RS5 just like other RS models is developed by Quattro, Audi’s in house performance team.

RS5 will feature Audi’s quattro drive and a 4.2-liter V8 that powers current RS4. Power will be at 450 hp (S5 has 453 hp).

I think it is kinda ugly with the angular intakes. I like the current S5 looks much more...

Hopefully the final version of the RS5 will have wider body etc.

I was planning to order 09 S5 until I found out the RS5 will go into production in Feb of 09.

That doesn't look like an RS5 in any sense of the word. I would imagine the RS5 will have a wider track, larger brakes, more pronounced rear diffuser and definitely be a bit more disguised. That doesn't even look like the RS5 test mule seen here in the states a few weeks back.

It may have the RS5 engine in it but nothing else is similar or would look like the RS5 production model.

Obviously it is not production spec. They use an S5 body with a different front fascia to cool the different engine. The RS5 body WILL have flared fenders, wider track, etc.

that front looks really odd without the large flared fenders. Hopefully those will make it onto it for production

Yeah. That was my point. The report made it sound more "finished" than it appears. I hate it when people do that.
