I don't know if this is the proper place to post this but I looked all over the forum and could not find a better place to post or an already existing post. If there is a discussion somewhere about this car already then please point me in the direction and delete this post.

Every time I visit Audizine I am greeted by Audi's beautiful new A1 concept car and I cannot help but be excited. Even if the car does not make it to production in it's current form, I have to think that the base of the car is so exciting that I cannot see the company saying no to a car like this. The only thing that I am skepticle about is the pricing. How would Audi justify pricing a car like this over an A3 or A4 with A1 badging, but surely this car must cost more than the other two to develop? A possible solution to this would be to offer a cheaper motor with the A1 and offer the hybrid package at a steep price.

How did Audi jump ahead of the curve so much with hybrid technology? This car offers over 20 more mpg than a lighter Toyota Prius when Toyota has been working with this technology for decades. Meanwhile GM seems to have put its eggs in the Volt basket and this A1 can travel further on it electric motor between recharges than that car with the ability to keep driving when the battery runs out AND the option to plug in or let the braking recharge the battery.

Is this car just some unverified chest pumping by Audi AG or is this a real the real deal?
