Seen that too many times... Pay for the exhaust valves or pay more for them later

Sure youve learned, hopefully people will learn from you and switch from the sodium filled valves if they want to make real power

This exact thing happened to me when my belt dropped 3-4 teeth. Was it the belt or do our valves just dropped once in a while.

    Re: pics of the destruction

well basically what i think happend was a misshift resulted in valve float and when the valve came down it bent and eventually just snaped off the valve stem...but idk thats my theory could have just been age and heat

I've got pics of what appears to be broken cams in a 1.8T due to oil sludge problems. Which reminds me. I need to contact that guy and get some more pics and proof that the cams did separate in two (or what probably happened was the bearing caps sheared and broke).

Thank you for that information. Makes me so happy I listened and put Inconel exhaust valves in my cylinder head.

    A real dyno this time...

P.S. You aren't changing anything to make more power, just taking care of some possible failure points and lowering compression so you can avoid some detonation....

You need some head tricks for more power or another turbo.

I might have missed it, what lighter components besides the pistons? Are you doing a TI retainer setup?
