Because sometimes you really feel the need to find out just what you're putting down at the wheels...

(Or perhaps your buddy's car breaks and you take his spot when someone calls out your car for it's "stockness." Either way, it was a lot of fun.)

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UyllFc_Va_k

    And the "prove it" sheet.

Proving my stockness. I've sworn up and down that this car will not be modified. I'm having a real hard time keeping that a true statement now.

that's pretty amazing. I'm no authorities on dynos, but if those are the numbers you're putting down stock I think you have a pretty solid engine in your S

the eternal debate of numbers depend on which dyno is used will always come up. some dynos are "happy" some are just conservative.

    Re: Dyno Day

4th gear pulls. (Haulin ASS... )

Actually this dyno was pretty conservative for the AWD cars. We had another EssFoh and I beat up on his numbers. Two B5's barely cracked 150AWHP (modded, one owner is tearing apart his engine as of this morning), and the B7 A4 we had out ran the same numbers as he did on another dyno three weeks ago.

But the big dog of the day was an E55 AMG that threw down 570lb/ft.

She's always felt solid. I'm really holding back on mods. I keep telling myself "warranty" over and over again but it's not helping.

That does sound high. But maybe he got a ringer. There definitely are deviations on the same model car. Some high, some low, some average. And that's not even considering the obvious deviations from dyno to dyno.

    Re: Dyno Day

Then there's the whole 25Quattro car... Audi claims up and down it's the exact same, but maybe I got lucky.

or he is using cheap gas and has so much carbon build up that the compression has risen half a point to 11.5:1

    Re: Dyno Day

    Great #'s good to see.

With a 7.4hp swing this is one reason why I don't look too much at people chipping there cars before and after on the dyno. The car looked like it picked up about 12TQ with 5 across the board. This looks like a before and after chipping of the car and its stock. Either way great #'s that is a strong representation for the B6

nope not on a dyno dynamics, those read pretty low and are fairly accurate. for him to put out 283 whp on a dyno dynamics is impressive

    Re: Dyno Day

I was talking to a Tech at audi the other day while the S was in for some small stuff and we were talking about what these cars make to the wheels. He told me the 4.2 V8 ranges from 270-280AWHP. Any lower you have two problems. A. car not funny to its fullest. B. Find another dyno. By the way car looks great on the dyno.

    Re: Dyno Day

Stormin, your stock numbers look good. Now stop wasting time and start modding your car!

If you're worried about your warranty do something relatively mild like an exhaust. Or better yet, see if your dealer sells aftermarket products. A lot of dealers are starting to embrace the aftermarket and sell new cars with modifications, warranty in tact.

    Re: Dyno Day

only mod worth doing is an S/C...everything else is a waste of time.
full back exhaust and chips...i've seen the yield gains on the dyno....just
haven't gained anything in the ET department.
