Does anyone make a built bottom end for the Audi 2.0T ?

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
My friend just blew the motor ( A rod and 3 holes on the block ) after a 400+ WHP and 500+ WTQ Dyno run.

He is going to rebuild, but he needs a stronger block.

    Any suggestions ?

I don't think they make a built bottom end for the 2.0T yet. I could be wrong though I haven't found one yet.

Im CVT, IhOEM Is Mt, and the car that blew the motor is MT as well. The run was preformed on a Dynomite Dyno, It was just calibrated recently and all the previous readings for the other cars where right on the money.

His tranny was already rebuilt once ( Snapped an axle ), and he has all custom solid mounts ( Snub & motor ( 90% durometer ) Tranny ( Solid metal )).

This accident/experiment involved C16, lots of boost, leanish mixtures, a 75 shot of spray, water/meth, and some timing advance.

Here is the car in question. Top Dog at H2o.

Well, pretty soon you will be able to buy a full silicone hose kits for the A4, incredible mounts, really simple water/meth kits, and other goodies soon to come.

But the mounts, the freaking mounts = SEX

Ps. Did I mention Nitrous ?

Re: Does anyone make a built bottom end for the Audi 2.0T ?

just to update you guys, my parts dept sells a stock long block for about $4500 with a $2000 core. GMG racing has built short and long blocks but not sure how much they are and if they fit our chasis. I'm still just looking for a short block, even though a long block would be nice but its really not necessary

gonna call GMG around lunch time.

You'll pay out the ass for a GMG or Eurospec motor. Not worth it.

Talk to BobQ (QEDpower.com). He builds up 2.0T FSI engines as well as 1.8T engines and is only about 3hours away from NJ up in RI. He has pistons made through Supertech for the FSI motor. He is also getting cams made through Cat Cams for the FSI configuration. Any 144mm connecting rod will work (Scat, Pauters, etc..). The 2.0T bottom end is the same as the 1.8 except for the giant harmonic balancer that resides near the crank in the crankcase. The 2.0 FSI is just an 82.5mm bore with 92.8mm stroke (exactly what my 2.0L stroker is running and it originated as a 1.8L).

It is really not that difficult a task. 1.8s are built all the time and this is no different. There's a bunch of guys on vortex running built 2.0FSI motors.

There's a bunch of guys on vortex running built 2.0FSI motors.

where about in RI is he located...first I have ever heard of him but his website makes him seem very knowledgeable.

shocker....would like to see a dyno sheet.

He is going to have issues finding a block that will handle that.

The block is very similar and a different casting than the 1.8s. The fundamentals are the same. Still doesn't mean you can not build it with forged parts.

Coventry. He's been building Audi / VW engines for years. Used to build race engines for a company. Then got out of it and does 1.8 and 2.0 builds on the side while teaching during the day. THE guy to go to for these engines.
