    Unhappy Faded center grill

I just finished painting my lowers all the way around, and installed the USP front on my '02 (I still need the lower USP center grill).

One thing that I have noticed, is that my upper center grill is looking like ass. I bought the car not too long ago, and didn't notice it at first, but now looking at everyone elses A4, I see that the black grid is totally faded. It's almost gray now from becoming so weathered, and I'm starting to see white streaks showing up as well.

What can I do to recondition it? I've cleaned it to the best of my ability, but it didn't do much. Is there some sort of plastic dye or paint that I can apply to it? I really don't want to have to buy a whole new grill to match the new color of my USP lower center.

I'm taking it off today so I can black out the trim piece.

Yes. It probably isn't best to use the Plasti-dip on the entire grill.

Why not, that will give you a much better match to your other grilles then anything else would.

    Re: Faded center grill

any plastic detail product will do wonders to restore the black to your grills. i just use the same stuff i use on other trim pieces on the car every time i wash it. keeps it looking pretty good, but does tend to wear off faster than some of the other trim parts. my wiper arms too for some reason. they just don't stay looking black as long as the rest. guess i need to wash my car more often.

anything you can spray into all the nooks and crannies helps as well on the grill.

i would take the grille out, remove the rings. spray the grid part with regular black spray paint and then spray the trim w/ plasti dip. thats just me though.
