    rear bumper with cutouts?

I'm not a big fan of the "stealth" rear bumper with downturns on the exhausts.
I see a lot of A6 pics on here where the bumper has exhaust cut-outs. Did certain years/engines come with that?

Any other changes, or can I bolt an 02+ bumper straight up to my 00 car?
I know they changed the front, but as near as I can tell the back stayed pretty much the same.

I believe it bolts right up, you might also need this plastic part that looks like maybe a wind deflector? Like a plastic under belly for the rear.

I ended up cutting my bumper here's a good pic

Looks pretty nice. Did you use a heat gun to flex the bumper out a little around the exhaust?

I guess it's the reflection off the tips that makes it look like it's flexed.

you can cut yours out with any tool of choice. I used a dremel.. then the best idea, which is what i did, was to go to any auto store, and pick up some black door edge protector that looks like a V.. put that on where the edges are and it looks really good. ill get some pics when i have a chance to see my car next week

I thought same as pit viper when I first looked. I understand a lot of folks have done this -- OC you didn't leave much gap. Looksnice. This has been something I've been debating for some time. I've developed a strong preference for one or the other that comes and goes....
