The weight savings for the A3 is about 20lbs. The aerocatches comes with an installation instruction. So it depends how skillfull the DIYer is. If you are not sure though, its always best to pay a little for a shop to do it.

No pic of it on the red B6. The hood should be fine for chipped cars. We have a lot of customers with the same setup. For the B6, you are saving well over 20lbs.

I have to agree, the weight saved from OEM on the A3 is at least 1/2 the weight if not more.

As for the latches, I DIY'ed it myself. I got some pictures from Meesh (I believe that's his handle) and was able to plot out how to cut it. Sure, the bottom looks ugly, but I don't care b/c no one really looks at that. I'm sure a shop would charge you a good amount b/c its not that simple to really do. I'm just cheap and try to do all the work myself
