New '04 B6 S4 owner, need suggestions!

Hey everyone, 2 weeks ago I purchased my first Audi. It's a 2004 S4. Silver on Black, 6 spd. manual. I have about $2k I am willing to spend, no more. I was thinking about exhausts, but I realized Its already loud enough, and with the money I have, now it's time for appearance. When I say I have $2k to spend, that's not including wheels. So I just need some suggestions. I want coilovers, to drop it about an inch. If I do that, would 20" rims be to big? It has the 18"s on it now, so I was thinkign 19's or 20's. Also, if you guys could put some input about some cool looking 19 or 20" wheels, that would be awesome. So basically, what coilovers, wheels, possibly body kits could I get. And something else, does anybody know where to get an Ipod Integration kit? Thanks in advance - Zach

I had 20s in the past and am much happier with the ride on the 19s. However, 20s look better. 2 grand won't go too far, your best bet is to look on the classified sections or craigslist for wheels. Although, Harttman and VMR make affordable wheels that look good on Audis. HRE, I forged, DPE, and other forged wheels always look great too, but each wheel will run you about $1000 unless you can find a used set.

Thanks for your reply. But when I said 2 grand, I meant for coilovers and such, the wheels I'm going to speak to my dad about. I'm going to work something out with him. But yeah, I honestly don't give a shit about the ride being bad, because I live in a rural area with great roads, and I'm not too worried. I just want it to look nasty. I know about HRE's and I don't LOVE them. I forgot about craigslist, I'll go do that now. Thanks for the info.

I have 20's in miami....love em they look sick my ride quality is still fine...Ill post some pics when I finally take them for you if you pm me to remind me

for 2k, if you're looking to drop it just an inch or so, and don't need the ride-height/corner balance adjustability, then I would just go with a set of matched springs and shocks.

As for Wheels, with our V708's, the spoked extend all the way to the edge of the wheel, making them appear larger than they really are. You can see our full lineup of wheels on our website.

It does not matter if you think it's loud enough, the sound changes with a good resonated system, it is by far one of the great joys of ownership. Just my opinion though. You can get CO for the 2k of you can check the classifieds for both.

an exhaust won't just change the sound on an S4...i'm pretty sure it actually adds quite a bit of power by letting the V8 breathe better.

Thanks for all your posts, but LampyB, I'm not gonna lie, I'm like 105% positive that you are completely wrong. An exhaust DOES change the sound. It could make it lower, higher, throatier, cleaner, raspier, or anything.

Ok. So I'm pretty set on the exhaust. Anyone know where to buy used parts BESIDES ebay and the classifieds? Also, still looking for a B6 iPod Integration Kit. Thanks!
