I'm looking for peoples opinions on both; from those who personaly have them, or have heard them in person. I'm having a hard time choosing which one to go with. I've been spending all weekend searching and listening to videos, and so far, I'm liking both. Help me pick one guys....

    ASP

    TT

My vote would be ASP for the sound, or TT for the performance. Both are nice pieces though.

2nd that...ASP sounds great, as I have one.....but JHM is 2.5" dual all around vs 2.25" piping. Best combo would be JHM catback w/ ASP 3" DPs

Re: Narrowed Down My Exhaust Choices to These 2...

Thanks for the input fellas. I forgot to mention, I'm going to be pairing this up with piggies. Does the difference in performance between ASP's 2.25" piping and TT's 2.5" vary that much? Especially down the road when I go stage 3...?

Re: Narrowed Down My Exhaust Choices to These 2...

TT- Had the twin 2...went to TT for more flow for larger turbos down the road.

TT- more loud around town, quiter WOT then twin 2. Weird...

I had this with ASP DP's FYI.

    Good luck!

My asp is matted to piggies, I didn't even notice a tone difference after I did the Piggies....if I had to do it all over again, I would go TT for the performance gain down the road when I go stage 3

Re: Narrowed Down My Exhaust Choices to These 2...

I have the TT exhaust on my car, fitment was tight and my ground clearance can be a bit nerve racking at times but it sounds great imo, nice deep growl down low and doesn't seem to drone much, lol I hardly listen to the stereo anymore as I prefer to hear the car when cruising around. Haven't compared it to ASP's exhaust but I'm sure glad I went with the TT.

Re: Narrowed Down My Exhaust Choices to These 2...

Food for thought on exhaust piping size.

Dual 2.25" (7.94 square inch area) little larger than stock (piggies) (restrictive)
Dual 2.5" (9.8 square inch area)

single 3" (7.06 square inch area) - popular after cat (restrictive)
single 3.5" (9.61 square inch area)

Turbo cars NEED big exhuast. And 2.5" dual all the way back is just a start in the right direction. Any smaller and you are sacrificing power about 5000 rpm.

Ever notice the fastest cars at the drag strip take their exhaust off? Why, well on average you pick up 2 to 4 mph (20 to 60hp) when doing this depending on your cat back.

So go at least dual 2.5" from the turbo back.

    Hope this info helps.

I prefer the ASP because the two pipes cannot touch themselves and it would never rattle ...

i trapped 118 on pump with the ASP, 2"dps and HF cats. on 21psi

But damn this setup is defiinitly quiet and restrictive. You can tell by the sound that the motor is choked.

    Go big as you can.

Not really, unless you tried oval pipe. We have done several dual 3" to single 4" setups with great results. However we haven't made jigs to mass produce something like this, so we pretty much do this for locals or someone willing to wait for us to build it on a car, then take it off to ship out.

Dual 2.5" (9.8 square inch area)
Dual 3" (14.13 square inch area)

single 3" (7.06 square inch area)
single 3.5" (9.61 square inch area)
single 4" (12.56 square inch area)

As you can see the 4" is way better than any thing else that fits our cars.

If the pipe diameter is the same on any 2 given systems there is no magical reason for more power from one or the other, it would just be brand preference and or sound. The only thing that would affect the power between the 2 is if one used a more restrctive muffler or used NON mandrel bent pipe (pipe with kinks in it to bend) The cat back we sell has straight through Borla mufflers that don't restrict. I don't know what the ASP system uses. You would have to ask them.

IMO, go for the one with the best performance. Skip the sound. You'll learn to love the sound, since your money will be better spent. ;)
