    Please help with decisions!!

While stationed in Germany we got a deal on a 07 A4. It is not one that was ordered but one a dealer had on showroom. It is a CVT tranny front wheel drive. I had not known anything about the little tuning capabilities of this platform (CVT). I now know. As soon as i got it from the port from shipping it back to the states, I went right to a APR tuner and got it chipped. It has been a blas to drive. I want more power. I have been looking at the new GTI / R32. Would I be stupid to trade a Audi for a VW or would it be a Verifiable trade for performance? Thanks in advance. If you have driven both please let me know pros and cons of both. And yes, unlike most Audi's and VW's in the states mine has been Autobahn driven. Nothing like it in the world, seems 70mph is like driveing in a school zone here in the states.

I was stationed there for 3 years. You are able to buy Us spec cars at about invoice price.

Whatever makes you happy. I wouldn't care what other people think if I were you.

The R32 isn't going to be as cheap to tune because it's naturally aspirated. The GTI will probably be more fun to drive, although I haven't driven one before.

My vote would be for the new 2.0T Quattro A3 that is coming. That thing will have some serious potential I think.

I am not really concerned with what people think. I just wanted to know if it would be a good decision to trade the Audi in? I know the CVT is only capable of holding 300HP and 300 TQ, I am already about there with the chip. Does VW have the same speed sensitive steering Audi has? Thanks all for your replies so far.

I've seen many members here with the CVT and all kinds of mods, some are stage 2. Although personally I wouldn't add anymore performance parts other than an intake and exhaust (which don't really add much) just to be safe.

    Re: Please help with decisions!!

Well I think I have come to a conclusion. I am going to keep the A4 and do the following once i return from Afghanistan.

Body kit; Caractere w/ roof spoiler
Trunk Spoiler; Dynamic Performance trunklid spoiler
Hood; Vorsteiner vented hood (only reason changing hood, have a few rock chips from autobahn)
Coilovers; either H&R, Stasis, or Vogtland (have to do research on ride quality of all 3)
Wheels; VMR V710 19" w/ tires unknown yet
    Sway bars; Type undecided
    CAI; Undecided
Exhaust; Milltek ( just purchased )
maybe do the A6 Led conversion

When it is all done will post pics for all to see. I get back to Campbell in March, so should be done late April mid may. Thanks for all your help, You guys rock.
