Do you always get a CEL on a blown coilpack?

Classic symptoms. I'm driving up the street and the car sputters and dies. I try to restart it but when I do, it sounds like a riced out civic and they sputters out.
The first time it happened a few months ago I got a CEL. This time, I didn't get one. Does that mean that it's something else?
And I'm sure that I must have blown 2 cause the car would at least run if I had only blown one right?

Check your check valves and suction pump. If its not a coilpack, it could be one of those. My suction pump blew up and it disabled my car completely, ran like shit for a little then my steering went, then my breaks, then my car shut off. Doesn't sound like that's your problem. Could be a bad check valve and/or coilpack going.

I'm sure it's a coilpack. At least I only made it 2 blocks from home, but the crappy thing is my car won't stay on long enough to get it back home so I had to leave it there. Good thing I'm in a decent neighborhood. I'll head to the stealer tomorrow and buy a couple.
