so i just got gas....

So im letting the pump auto fill the car while i run inside for a drink. i come out and its all done... 18 gallons full... I think to myself, now ive never gotten 18 gallons into my car before, whats the difference now? i pull out the nozzle and gas comes pouring out of the car.. What the hell would make that happen and let it overfill? im so confused as to how this happened. Any help would be great!

My girlfriend's brother-in-law told us about something similar happening to him. Only it wasn't stopped. He came back out, and it was pouring gas onto the ground. He went in and told the gas attendant, and they said oh well. They didn't care that there were several gallons of gas leaking on the ground.

this happened to me recently, refer to a post I made, "Gas Overflow" or something like that. It's your charcoal canister or some valve associated to it (sorry I forget the name of it), but if you refer to my post you'll find the info.
