MTM stage 1 map... massive boost surging?

I've done some STFA and most say that ALL maps surge at WOT until the N75 catches up, is it something to worry about?

In first gear I see about 12-13psi (This seems intentionally restricted)
In second gear I see spikes to about 20-21 psi, and then quickly reigned in to about 14.5-15psi
in 3rd gear that happens twice. If I go WOT at low RPM boost climbs quickly to 20-22psi (on my AWE gauge, might not be QUITE That high) is corrected down to 14-15, then spikes again, then comes back down to 14-15 and drops down to about 13-14 by redline...

I guess I'm asking if this is to be expected, This is my first turbo charged audi, but that type of behavior is something I would have never tolerated on my subies.

Car feels very strong though, power delivery is very smooth and when I'm most concerned about high boost (high RPM) the tune seems to be very conservative at only 3-5psi higher than stock, it's just the low RPM high load conditions that seem odd to me?

sounds somewhat normal.. maybe a bit hi.. most chips spike to aroun 18-20 and level off at 15ish.
