Stupid Dipstick

Not that this post is original, so a plastic piece fell down the tube.The piece is going to get sucked where ? What is the best way to deal with this? So much for the 30 minute oil change

how big was the piece? that tube is pretty small

it was about half the diameter, of the tube, maybe less. I tryed to pin it against the side of the tube with the dipstick, but it dropped down the tube.

It's fine. The screen on the oil pump will prevent it from getting sucked up into the engine and it will flush out the next time you change the oil.

mine did the same thing..its a common problem... there is a screen on the oil pickup tube so don't worry about it. it will come out on an oil change in the future.

thank god i am not the only one my girls passat dipstick broke twice and mine just broke recall much audi? almost as bad as the damn glove box door hinge that the dealer says you have to replace the whole glove box for! and yeah you can just replace the door those things really suck on the 02's

i remember the day my dipstick crumbled into a thousand pieces of plastic death...it sucks because the orange on the dipstick doesn't match the orange of the tube...
