looking to get a b7

Hey everybody,

i am needing to get a new a4 in the near future. I currently have a b5 and its getting too old.

I really would like to get a b7 2.0T with quatro, years 2005-07 depending on the price. I would rather not go above 25-26k. I also want a sports package (sline/ sport steering wheel, sport seats if they made them, as well as the sport springs and shocks)

I tried looking on autotrader but not sure which ones were the "true" sports/sline models.

I really like the sline model with the 5-spoke wheels similar to this,in what years did they produce this model??:

so what should i be looking for in price, and is there a better/worse year to get for the b7 that i should be aware of?

I like the 2006 A4 it has a nice wheel and shift knob. You should pay around $17,000 for an A4 with 25k miles.

With 25-26k you can probably very easily get a 2006 sports package, somewhere around 30k miles. Price might be closer to 26.5 if you want Sline. Or a 2007 with slightly higher mileage is possible as well.

Other than the sports package, is there anything else that is a must have? Are you looking for Tip or 6 MT?

I see you are in chicago, there are quite a selection there the last time I looked, even more so if you are looking for Tip, and thus more room for negotiation. 6MT's selection are more limited, and I found that most dealership has the "buy it at my price or leave it" attitude when it comes to buying 6MT. I actually flew to Laurel Audi and picked up my B7.

cool...im not too picky on automatic or manual. Im also not too picky on whats inside the car other than the color of the exterior and interior and the brushed aluminum inside. I would like to have xenon headlights but what package is that with?

also, how hard are dealerships trying to get rid of their 2008 a4's to make room for the 2009's? How much are they discounting them right now??\

I got almost $4,000 off of MSRP on my 08.

I know that in 08, the Xenon lights came with the convenience package. I know that was called something different for earlier models though.

i see it is harder to find a 6MT, and thats what i think i really want. some argue either way but i like the tuxury of tip tranny, but am leaning towards a B7 with 6MT

I am about 80% sure it is called the lighting package, but I could be wrong. somebody correct me please if I am indeed off the path.

Since you are in chicago, would you also want the heated front seats? heated rear seats as well? just something to think about.

Yeah, on the 05.5-07 it was called the technology package. Just the 08's, it's the convenience package.
