Are this symptoms of a my Fuel Filter going bad if so can i just take it to the Stealership and have them do it for me. This is and 02 model btw and I believe there was a recall for bad Fuel Filters.!!!!!any help would be greatly appreciated

    Re: Fuel Filter Almost Out?!?!?!

Sounds like it might be that or maybe fuel pump.

What does the noise sound like? All your symptoms point to coilpacks too....maybe even the Ignition Control Module......

I have that sound too, replaced my fuel filter and the same thing happens. Blinking cel and studdering mean a coil pack is dead 99% of the time

    Re: Fuel Filter Almost Out?!?!?!

I would say test the coilpacks first. Unplug each pack individually while the car is idling and see if there is a change in rpm. If there is, the pack is good, if not, its probably shot.

Or better yet, have comeone check the codes for you with vag com. Don't drive the car with a flashing cel!!!

    Re: Fuel Filter Almost Out?!?!?!

fuel filters should be replaced every so often as a maintance item. Do you know how many miles on this fuel filter?

the fuel pump is in your gas tank and if you are pushing the car hard on lower fuel levels you might hear the fuel pump too. Many of us don't run the fuel level down to below 1/3 of the tank to try and keep the pump in the fuel and properly cooled and functioning.

    Just replace your filter.

If the cavitation noise continues proceed to upgrade your pump with the 034 Motorsport upgraded B6 drop-in fuel pump (a Bosch005) and forget about it. www.a4mods.com is your friend. Easy DIY, about an hour or two.
