Wastegate Sticking???

So every now and then, i lose complete boost. My gauge drops to vaccum 20 and no matter what i do it wont make any boost above 0. Then like a minute or 2 later car goes back to normal and i'm spiking my 19lbs like i should be. the CEL also NEVER comes on to let me know something is wrong. I would say this problem might happen like 3 or 4 times a month at different times. i can never predict when its gonna happen, and there is no difference in the way my car sounds.

Is it poss that my wastegate is sticking therefor my car is not building boost?? Maybe carbon buildup?? I've been runnin APR93 sine 3k miles and i now have almost 70k on the car. also have been running a test pipe (no cat) for about 60k miles.

Your hitting fuelcut, and one possible reason is ur OEM DV has a torn seal and you might be overboosting.

I feel it is the cam lobe wear issue. I had the same problem. Since you have boost some time I feel the turbo is not shot. But it may be blown if you have no boost.

Car runs perfect though. This problem happens for like a minute or 2 at a time. No check engine light, car sounds perfect. I turbo is either good or bad right?? its not like the turbo is going to be working one day and not the next, and then working good again? its just such an odd problem. and it would be hard for an audi tech to duplicate the problem without having my car for a month and driving it every single day cause it happens not very often

I feel it is the Cam Lobe wear issue. Audi has a technical bulletin about it. I had the same problem, which you are having. If you want to we can meet up and you can give me a ride and I will try to see what is wrong with the car.
