It's a nuvi. Only costed me roughly $150. Also I will be putting trim back on it. And thanks for the idead. I could touch it up with some black pain followed by some matte texture. Giving it a smooth black effect.

Not at the moment. I can pry it out when I need to though. Once it's been fully charged it lasts for hours. When the time comes I'm going to drill a sideways hole through the dash material allowing me to run a smooth route to the cig. lighter, in order to maintain it's charge. But for right now it's working quite well just the way it is. I also put a barrier of plastic to cut of the air/heat supply so it doesn't effect it. (it's the same thing as when you close your vents, cept mine is now closed for the time being).

the 75X terminal is RIGHT THERE under the steering wheel, you should just run it to that, make it alot easier and will have power anytime the ignition is on, NO power when the ignition is off.

Re: PICS -custom fitted Nav. system

Nice! I had thoughts of doing that, but I decided I wanted it nearer to my stereo. Also mine plays video's and windows CE (mio C310) so I wanted others to be able to see it to.

    Heres mine.

Also for those wanting to buy a GPS or any other electronic device. Tigerdirect always has great prices...
    http://www.tigerdirect.com/applicati...c:2374|&Sort=4

How is it being held in? By the dash itself or is there some kind of mount that you have?
I dont know how snug it is (although it looks pretty snug..) but I would be afraid of it coming out...

Paint it black! I painted mine black, then while on my 3rd light coat while it was still wet I misted a silver flake over it to make it match the dash a little. Semi gloss works good.

Re: PICS -custom fitted Nav. system

nice work! i started a thread about a month ago asking for custom nav installs to help me brew some ideas of my own, glad to see you were able to come up with something! Is the screen easy to read from the driving position or does the steering wheel partially block the view? And what is currently holding it in there? velcro? just the friction of being wedged in there?

Also like someone else asked do you have any pictures of it at night? and of the area with the nav removed? Thanks a lot! You have definitely given me some new incentive to go portable nav shopping!

I'll get some night pics up here soon(I lost my digital camera). Also It's wedged in there pretty tight. No velcro or anything. I am looking into custom fitting a woodgrain material around it or something.

Also it's easy to see at night. Not distractive by any means. Just glance down and there she be. It's easy to see as well as control from the place that it is.
