ticking at WOT after 3500k?

Ok well im just curious to what could be the problem or if its normal. My friend also notices it and says "hey i think your car ticks"...

I does it kinda loud and its usually only after 3500k rpm's. I would like to try and eliminate the sound. It seems like the faster the engine speed the faster the tick. (mostly hear it when the windows are down, i dont think you can hear it if the windows are up or the music turned up loud enough) Anyone have an idea?

Nah no heat shield hitting man, I have the same thing. I think it might be the valves I have had it ever sence i had my engine repaired after my head gasket blew. Not sure what it is man if you find out let me know too.

i mean it could be a heat shield thats a good guess idk. But damn that would suck if it was valves. WTF does that mean i need a valve job?

I had that when my turbo and exhaust manifold had a crack in it. It could be something like that...


However Im just throwing an idea out there.

you know what i think it could be that too maybe we have an exhaust leak.get some heavy duty jack stands and go under the car try to hear for any leaks, i'm doing the same thing this weekend.

Best way is to plug the exhaust/cover it, and listen for leaks when its running. This forces the air through the leaks.

are you sure its not pinging from running low octane gas?

im not sure waht the ticking noise ur hearing sounds like but its aguess..
