Not to be rude, but Carfax is FAR from being anyones friend, it's a completely useless piece of shit report from a shoddy company that doesn't stand by there word. They only report from a
limited amount of sources which severely limits how accurate the report is.
I used to trust carfax as well until I found out my Audi was in a pretty bad rear end collision, and it showed nothing on the report until February of this year(accident was in 2005)
Take the car to a mechanic you trust who will do a very thorough once over, and if you know where the car was first registered, call the local DMV office and try and find out if there are any accident reports involving the car. Unfortunately carfax doesn't report from agencies like that, and if he got into a wreck in city in an entirely different state, you'll probably never know.
The decision of wether or not to buy a car should
NEVER come down to what's on the carfax report.
