    15k service - $330!!!!

    Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
    Ok, my Avant is a hair past 15k so called the dealership for a cost estimate on the service and was given a $330 price tag

    I know the cabin filter is something I can change, plus a look over on the car's components (onboard diagnostic check (to see if there are any faults stored), brakes, axles, hoses, fluids, exhaust, tires, cooling system, etc). I normally do my oil changes but since I'd like oil changes documented, it has to be done by a shop (for sludge warranty claims - hopefully not though). But for $330? Is this ok and I should just give in or go my Avant elsewhere

    Thanks

    PS - on the subject of Cabin Air Filters, is the charcoal-lined one from ecstuning recommended over the plain paper? I suppose the charcoal blocks outside odors too {not sure how that will hold up to skunks though }

    15K miles? Arent you covered under warranty?

    Do it yourself or find a nice local import mechanic. Dealer is a ripoff

    Re: 15k service - $330!!!!

    yea seriously, I don't bother with those kind of service things. Just change the oil every 5000k and check everything else and replace as needed (air filters)...

    Save yourself the trouble and just go to a certified private mechanic for routine maintenance. Not to mention, everything in the manual just says "check"

    Thanks.

    I contacted a local Foreign Auto service shop that works on German cars and they said they do all that Audi does every 10k interval, stamp the booklet for proof of service and to top it all, much, much cheaper. They even told me to replace the cabin air filter myself to save myself $$$.
