    Parking Brake button?

Can someone please explain how the parking brake button is supposed to work? When i stop the car i press the parking brake button and the brake goes on (little red light) but then when i start the car and pull away it does not disengage (isn't it supposed to?) so then i press the button down and nothing happens. press it down again (sometime 3 or 4 times) before it goes off. wtf

Am i supposed to press and hold of a few seconds?

Isn't the whole point of a button that it goes off automatically?

It works well as the hill assist when the engine is on however...

Engage the brake by pulling up on button. To Disengage place foot on brake and push down on button.

    Re: Parking Brake button?

i don't know how i feel about this electronic parking brake. i have it on my b8 a4 and it's nice to look at but kind of weird at the same time. being an automatic transmission, i don't use it much.

to engage it, pull it up.
to disengage, step on the brake and push down.

    cheers... rocco

Engage/disengage as noted above but it also should disengage automatically if your seatbelt is locked in place and you leave either forward or reverse.

thanks boomer... that is what i thought too. I knew how to engage/disengage it but i was under the impression it should go off automatically too.

I am gonna call the dealer, and have them check it out.

You have to have your foot on the brake to dissengage the parking brake.

    Re: Parking Brake button?

I'll have to try disengaging it automatically. Will test out tomorrow morning.
