Difference btw tip and man exhaust systems

Just like the title states, what is the main difference between a tip/manual exhaust system? I have a tip, but purchased a manual exhaust. What do I need to change or fabricate?

I think it just has to do with how it is going to fit. I think the tiptronic transmission is much larger than the manual.

The only part of the exhaust that will be different is the downpipe.

At least for AWE, the tip exhaust is only downpipe back.

so i never really read exhaust threads before... just learning more about it now... are there any full exhausts with downpipe for tips?

labree is the only company that sells a tiptronic downpipe

Not to hijack the thread but can you bolt the Labree downpipe onto the AWE exhaust without welding? Im considering this setup since it is the only aftermarket downpipe and I have a tip. Thanks for anyone that answers.

Yes, the downpipe from labree will work with the stock exhaust or any other aftermarket exhaust system.

NYSpeedRacer I hope you enjoy the exhaust. It was great doing business with you. I guess you should get the downpipe from labree and bolt it up.

i was about to ask this same question. so the difference between tip and man exhausts, are that the tiptronics don't come with the downpipe. or is the whole exhaust a different shape? cause if it is just that one comes with a downpipe and the other doesn't, awe's prices are so close that i would just buy manual and sell the dp

I got the britalmann quad tip manual transmission and I have a tip and had to have the down pipe bent and a bracket put in to keep it from creating vibrational noise...that's my two cents I know different systems are different but I can't imagine there are many if any downpipes you would be able to get that wouldn't need to be modified and it wasn't exactly cheap either but I'm happy with it
