Just got my first audi 2004 A4 Avant 1.8t.. Have had it one month, it has 20,000 miles and I just had to replace the power steering pump Just wondering if this is common, and if not how long of a life could I maybe expect on the new pump? thanks.

    Re: power steering pump failure

I happened on my 04' at about the 35K mark so it's not that UNcommon. Knock on wood, the OEM replacement has been fine since. The fluid leaked out which caused the pump to fail in the first place.
