this used to be my car but i gave it to my little brother and got myself a 1.8t. last night he totally destroyed the clutch by trying to do a burn out. now it wont move at all. when clutch is engage the speed meter would increase while car wont move at all, i can even go into gear without having to step on the clutch. my question is do i need to replace the flywheel as wheel or just need a clutch kit?

what i know is that if the clutch is extensively slip, it would damage the flywheel with the heat generated. i am sure my brother had rev it in panic trying to move the car off the street. maybe that explain why it wont engage completely.

if its the original fly wheel it prolly needs to be resurfaced when mine went the car would go into gear when i put the clutch in but when i tried to get it going it would just grind out of gear all i needed was a new clutch and pressure plate

Sach's is an OEM supplier and their pressure plates are often modified for high performance applications.

most times it can be re-surfaced and salvaged, but sometimes it's just too far off to re-use and needs to be replaced, when a FW wears it tends to wear in a bowl shape so sometimes too much material needs to be shaved to be useable.
If it's the orginal FW.. then it's more likely then not time for a replacement..
