    Best place for brakes?

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
Where's the best place to get pads & rotors from?

I like the Hawk pads, although if you have experience with something better, please feel free to mention it.

I wouldn't mind a slotted (and possibly dimpled) rotor, but not looking to drop a ton on them.

Also, I'll probably do the brake lines while I'm in there.

    Good place to order from?

Have you personally worked with these guys? They dont seem to have very good service from what I have been reading.

SPP aka Adam's on the other hand has over 15 pages of happy customers.

I will be going with SPP

r1 concepts has good rotors and pretty decent prices on packages. I have used them on five occasions for sets. They have a website but also they put a lot of stuff on ebay. They are located in California.

    Re: Best place for brakes?

Is there a writeup that outlines the brake differences between C5's? Personally, I like cheap plain rotors that are manufactured outside of China.

As an A6 newbie, I haven't been able to find any centralized info pertaining to my car and was thinking of putting together a FAQ as I learn different things. I was very spoiled with www.shotimes.com for my other car. It's horribly outdated and has fallen into neglect but it was a great resource in its time. :)

I suspect that many of the topics that come up on this forum and some of the others have been covered quite a few times. While I use the search function, I don't always find what I'm looking for.

You can always create a great write up or how-to and get it linked. There is always something that can be added or modified.

I have it narrowed down to: Carbotech Bobcat, Pagid RS 4-2-1 Black, or the ever popular Hawk HPS.
