Are the any peeling issues with the B7 center console?

Sorry if this is beating a dead horse, I did search but didn't find much.

Im thinking about swapping a B7 center console into my B6. I have the part numbers, it can be done, but do the B7 consoles still peel? I've read conflicting reports... some say its a new material that does not peel, some say it does. Any input from the owners that have put some miles on their cars?

Im just talking about the center console that surrounds the radio, shifter, parking brake, etc. Not the armrest, radio, etc.

I sure hope it doesn't peel. I know that happend in my jetta which really pissed me off.

I had a B6 and where my right knew rested against the console it peeled. I have 10,000 miles on my B7 and there is no peeling yet.

I hope that helps. But I would assume they're the same material; B6/B7.

I have an '06 and had some peeling on the center console arm rest. No peeling in any other areas (yet).

don't think our cars are old enough to know for sure... but I have to admit my center console is looking superb after the 35k miles with my phat ass arm resting on it at all times.

Just noticed mine's peeling. Gonna take it in for replacement. Warranty should cover this.
Had a similar problem on my old R32, and the dealer replaced the part, no questions asked.

I asked about getting this repaired under warranty and I was told it was considered a wear and tear issue. It would have been covered had the peeling happened during the first year.

I would call bullshit on the part of the dealer. My R32 was 2.5 years old when they warrantied the piece. Wear & tear on a 2006... unacceptable.
Mine's a 2007. I'd call Audi Corporate if I were you.

The service advisor told me that it used to be covered under warranty but that Audi changed the policy in '06. Right now it's a very small area that peeled and it does not bother me but I'm sure it will only get worse. Good idea on calling AoA to see if that is correct.

You're in Southern California, let me know if you are able to get yours covered.

By the way, the warranty did cover replacement of the arm rest (top part) when the latch broke.

The front driver side corner is starting to peel on mine ('06 w/23k miles). I'll definitely be pushing the warranty angle when I bring it in for the 25k service.
