anyone here ever changed a full exhaust on a 3.0 v6?
i would like to squeeze some power out of mine.. just ordered the K&N air intake and would also like to do the exhaust.. i saw they also had a $500 ecu program for 8hp but i dont think thats worth it.

What exhaust did you get and where.. and how did you like it?

I just got Thermal R&D catback exhaust and I love it. It is loud, I don't think it pulls any better, but it was a worthwhile mod. Picked up used on classifieds.

depends on what you want to spend... the exhaust will cost you around 1000 plus for a full cat back.. im sure you can find it for a little cheaper but it really doesnt give you any gains.. minimal at best like 5-10 hp? from what ive heard... also heard that with the chip and exhaust you may get 15-18 hp.. maybe!! thats roughly 100 bucs per horsepower.. not worth it in my opinion

I've got a 3.0 as well and I plan on just getting the Magnaflow 14851 Tips and just stop there with it since I won't see any gains from a cat back really. And, only 300 bucks installed, so much cheaper and sounds good as well.

Like others pointed you don't feel any performance improvement with a catback.
You do it just for the sound.
I like my Milltek. No drone, just a hint of rumble at idle. Mash on the pedal and you'll appreciate what you hear.
Some like Magnaflow mufflers for fraction of the cost.
So, it totally depends on what you want to spend.

I just purchased Vibrant Cans, and had them welded on. They are flat black, so they match black paint on the car. I like the way they look. I did not remove the first resonator, but May in the future.

    Re: exhaust mod on B6 3.0 ?

don't waste your money for the GIAC file. save it for a supercharger later if you want to go nuts.

for full exhaust, it's impossible to do now. from headers to the tips of the exhaust.
there are nice brands out there for cat back exhausts such as Thermal, Magnaflow, Borla, Einsman(not sure how to spell and you will not buy it anyway because the $$$).
exhaust will give you somewhat better throttle response and shed some weights.
just go get some mufflers for now with 4" tips
