    New Guy, Couple Questions**Pics**

Hey Guys I have a couple quick questions...

1)Sometimes when I go to start my car I have to re-push the clutch a couple times for the car to turn over..I'm thinking there is a sensor on the clutch that is sticking or wearing out..Anyone know what that is or had similar problems..2000 Audi A6 2.7t 6spd.

2)Is there a place I can buy an insert for the rear bumper with the dual exhaust cut-out to replace my non-cut out rear bumper?? I know sometimes on differfernt cars that these inserts are actually removeable, are these??

    3) Has anyone bought these tailights before?? I'm thinking of buying them and when I get them, tint them some more and clear and wetsand them to get that dark glass look..

    http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/98-99...QQcmdZViewItem

4)Anyone done anything cool with their engine bay??? I'm thinking of smoothing out all the covers and painting them balck with lots of clear and wetsanding to get that deep black glass look..Should be easy to clean also..

Also probally doing my headlights and grill this weekend also, going to black it out like this...

    welcome!
check out caracture, abt, ottinger, there you can find body kits and bumper covers for your car. the clutch has a sensor on the actual tranny where the clutch spring is, find it and replace it, they go bad. the car has to make sure you are pushing the clutch in order for it to start. hope that helps. and stay away from ebay crap, you will regret it later, trust me.

Those look exactly like the hella, for half the price. Find out who the mfg is. The other alternative is to spray tint yours or get the film for around $20.00. Could not find someone to tint them so I went with the tinted film. I can take them off anytime without any residue on the lense, it came out pretty schweet! I'll post some pics.

I like the way your headlights came out. Did you do it yourself?? I plan on doing mine the only question I have is what type of paint did you use and brand. I was concerned about the heat from the lights messing up the paint.

I wish the tails from this thread were available for Avants/allroads. I like them, I think better than smoked tails on a light color car (although some kind of silver tint on our light colored cars would be very hot).

I have been wondering what blacking out the grill would look like on my silver A6. I was thinking of doing just the trim but not the rings. Hmmmmmm

fwiw -- I like the black rings on stock grille if car is already silver (also on debadged rear end), blacked headlights shown are nice with silver, too (any decrease in high beam brightness?). And smoked tails to match rear plate surround looks great on silver and beige (or whatever it's called - melange?).

And valence can be modified by competent body folks to have exhaust come thru - don't have to replace. Not sure about the replacement approach (it would mean buying a 2002+ "valence").

I just got those tail lights from the same company on eBay and I am mostly pleased with them. They are VERY dark, though, ( I wouldn't tint them any more) and have no color in the lenses so you will have to get colored bulbs or you won't be legal. The stock clear bulbs in your current tail lights just make the new ones look grey and washed out with no real diff between the brakes and blinkers. I got red superbright LEDs (from eBay) for the tail/brake lamp and just yellow colored bulbs from my local auto parts store for the turn signals.

The fit is perfect and they went in in 10 minutes per side. The quality is not as good as the Hellas but it is acceptable given the price. I got a compliment on them the very first day from the guys at my local car wash. Do yourself a favor and get some smoked side markers, too, to match.

Shipping time to me (Dallas) from China was suprisingly fast at only about a week.

    Hope that helps.
