I'm looking at a set of 18x8 rs4 reps and the seller says they rub on the inside unless your run spacers.

What is the correct offset for 18x8's on a b5??

most 18x8 rims will run a et35 for our car. The lower that number goes the farther the rims will stick out. The higher the rims will move in and eventually rub on the control arms(well the tires will) and you also lose brake clearance. I would say dont go anything more than a 38 offset if you dont wanna run spacers.

V708's in 18x8.5 with 225/40/18 tires fit fine on the B5.

I run 18x8 RS4 reps that have an offset of ET35, 225/40/18 tires, and I dont rub at all. I am around 25" to the ground to fender

    Re: 18x8 off set

I run 18x8 RS4 reps that have an offset of ET32, 225/40/18 tires, and I DO rub sometimes. I am 24.75 rear and 25 front. When I hit bump in the front while turning hard/going fast I sometimes will rub tire on fender. I've also scrapped the rear fender ON the wheel, when the car was loaded w/ 5 people and hit bit bump.

So moral of the story, don't go closer in than 38-40 and no further out than 34-35.
