    Oil Temp Sender/Sensor

I've had the same oil temp gauge failure problem and many other S4 owners. It started to die then would kick back in then it totally stopped. I bought the oil temp sender from ECS the little one that is supposed to screw into the block. I couldnt find it. If it is where its supposed to as shown it diagrams it would be hidden by the ac compressor. Yet some say the 2.7t doesnt have this style sensor only the 2.8's. So for the 2.7t is built into the oil level sensor in the bottom of the pan. I called audi and they said it has the screw in style. Could someone please help figure out what one it is. And if its the screw it exactly where it is. Thank You.

I've heard, like you, that it's integrated in the level sensor at the bottom of the oil pan. I don't have any first hand experience with it though..

its right where the diagram depicts. Gotta look past the sway bar and follow the little black wire to it. You can barely see it but you can feel it and see your fingrers to guide you there. Its a pain in the ass to get out and back in. You will need two long extenisions. The sway bar is kinda in the way and let the car cool first or you will be burned. Trust me i did this about two weeks ago and my light is still on. IDK. Its there, good luck.

The oil temp sender/level sensor is the on right in the bottom of the oil pan. Mine needs to be changed as well.
